
Phlebotomy & EKG
Phlebotomy is the act of drawing or removing blood from the circulatory system through a cut (incision) or puncture in order to obtain a sample for analysis and diagnosis. Phlebotomy is also done as part of the patient’s treatment for certain blood disorders.
Those who successfully complete their program will be eligible to take the examination for National Certification. Succesful completion of this program is dependent on 100% attendance, acceptable standards of practice in the externship setting, and a passing score on the national test.

FAKS Allied Health Education Center was established in October 2001. The school initially offered Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) with the approval of the Georgia Medical Care Foundation. Since then, the school has enrolled, graduated, and placed 1100 plus students in jobs with local health care facilities. Recently, school officials applied and received authorization to offer several other programs.
